Mariia (Mañia) Wiemken is a Chicago and Minsk based film and television editor. Growing up in Belarus with well known actors for parents, Mariia literally grew up on the theater stage and film set.
After graduating from Columbia College Chicago with an award for Outstanding Achievement in Film and Video she has edited more than two dozen network television series and feature films in Chicago and Moscow.
In the United States her work has appeared in the Chicago International Film Festival, Red Shift Film Festival (New York) and the Indianapolis Film Festival. In Russia her work has been widely seen on Channel One, VGTRK Channel, NTV, Ren-TV, TV Centre as well as in the Vyborg International Film Festival and Open Film Festival Kinotavr in Sochi. Her work on Tulskiy-Tokarev was nominated for “Best TV Series Edit" at Russia's 2011 Golden Rhino Award ceremony (Zolotoy Nosorog), celebrating the best of Russian television. Mariia was also one of the editors on the television series “Silver Spoon 2” that was the first Russian television show bought by Netflix in 2016. According to the Film and TV Producers Association this show was also voted the Best Series of 2017 and won an Award for Best Directing.
